For instance, suppose you have an embedded field in a text area. You do not want the data to wrap, overlaying a subsequent line in the section. Will having the Can Grow flag turned off insure the data will not wrap and overlay the subsequent line?
No. If a line exceeds the width of the text area, the system wraps it, even if the Can Grow option is turned off for that text area. Furthermore, if the Can Grow option is turned off, the system will not reposition the next object to prevent the text from overlapping. You turn on the Can Grow option to tell the system to reposition subsequent objects when necessary to avoid overlapping.
Keep in mind the system does not truncate data unless instructed to do so via the rule that populates the field.
